An elephant sustained serious injuries after it was hit by a government bus heading towards Bengaluru.
According to the reports an elephant while trying to cross the national highways near Sulagiri forest range was hit by a government bus headed towards Bangalore from Coimbatore.
The incident was reported to the forest officials and the police, who rushed to the spot immediately. The vetenary doctor provided neccessary first aid assitance and it was decided to shift the injured pachyderm to the Perandappalli forest research hospital for further treatement.
Currently, the procedures to shift the elephant through crane is in process. The district collector, Kathiravan was present at the spot and monitored the procedures that were followed.
