Kalki Subramaniam, a social activist, actor, writer, an established entrepreneur and a transgender has hosted a Painting Exhibition at the ArtHouz, Jenny's Residency, Avinashi Road.
A transgender exhibiting her artworks in an exhibition is first of its kind in India. Kalki's mother Rajamani Subramaniam proudly inaugurated the event graced by her well wishers.

The soulful acrylic and water colour paintings displayed depicted the wholesome journey of her personal life and throws light on the boundless feelings of a transgender. The paintings featured here shows her journey as a transgender and also illuminates feelings of intense sorrow, happiness, perseverance and overall 'Kalki - a free liberated soul'.
She has successfully accomplished a similar exhibit, ‘Piece by Piece – Art for Human Rights’ at Trivandrum from June 1st -15th.

She proudly sheered that "Art heals me, my pain of past, it has promising future for me. Art is orgasmic,spiritual and I paint with enthusiasm of a child. I don't stick to rules and I don't even know what they are." She appealed that the families of the transgenders should accept them as they are and shoulder them to overcome their hurdles and mixed up feelings.
The exhibition cum Sale will be open to public till July 17th and the sale proceeds from the exhibit would be donated to uplift the lives of the under privileged transgenders, she stated.
