3 top NDFB terrorists killed in Assam

Based on specific intelligence inputs on a movement of Hardcore NDFB(S) terrorists the Indian Army and Assam Police launched a series of joint operations in Kokrajhar District in the wee hours of 17 July during which they neutralized three top terrorists of the outlawed group National Democratic front of Bodoland.

The Operation

In the early hours of the morning, the joint team spotted suspected individuals moving through the dense jungles. When the army challenged them, they came under heavy fire.

The team retaliated with controlled fire and killed three top terrorists of the NDFB(S). Two of them have been identified as Rahul Basumatary and Ritu Basumatary.

Setback for NDFB

Four Pistols, a large quantity of ammunition, hand grenades and other war-like stores have been recovered from the slain terrorists. The operation is indeed a major setback to the NDFB(S), which has been active in the area. The surgical operation carried out under the prevailing torrential rains.
