In Pictures: SDPI protests in front of Railway Station

Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a protest yesterday at the CoImbatore Railway Station alleging the policies of the Central Government.

These were the allegations put forth by them:

1. Dalits and socially deprived community people are being brutally attacked by Sivasena activists for consuming and trading beef around the Nation, especially in Gujarat and Jharkhand.

2. The unprecedented protests and killings of civilians after the death of Burhan Wani in the state of Kashmir appears no closer to being resolved. They cited the incidents were Army's inquiry into a firing incident, had left three civilians dead in South Kashmir.  They insisted that government should reinforce actions to bring back normalcy in Kashmir without disrupting the lives of  the Civilians.

3. The new education policy draft proposing 'Sanskrit' language to be declared as a mandatory third language to the existing education Curriculum is totally against the constitutional values of the nation.

The police stopped the protestors entering the Railway Station which ended up in a scuffle between them. Close to 200 of the protestors were arrested by the Police.
