Murugesan of Savukaadu, a tribal village at the foothills of Narasipuram was attacked by a bear while working in a farm.
He had been busily engaged in collecting wood stocks at the near by reserve forest area. Unexpectedly, a bear pounced on him and attacked him brutally.
He cried out for help which brought the nearby workers to rescue him from the bear.
After a long struggle they rescued him from the scene and admitted him at the government hospital for further treatment.
'The bear movement around the area pose a serious threat to our livelihood. The forest officials did not turn up on time to rescue Murugesan', they grieved.
