The 27th District Professional and Sports Meet for Home Guards was flagged off today at the PRS Grounds, Near Anna Silai (Avinashi Road).
The event was jointly inaugurated by AGDP, A K Viswanathan and K. Periaiah, Inspector General of Police & Deputy Commandant General of Home Guards.
Around 1350 home guards across Tamil Nadu will be participating in this three-day event starting from today till Saturday. The event will feature both sports meet and practical sessions for the upliftment of their professional skills.
Kabadi and Volleyball will be conducted for both Men & Women along with a 9mm pistol shooting competition for officers cadre.
The participants will also have practical sessions on upliftment of their professional skills like Parade, firefight, rescue, PT and emergency.
On Saturday, District Collector Hariharan and City Commissioner Amalraj will distribution trophies to the winners.
