Shanti Ashram, a city-based social organisation well-known for their tireless contributions towards environmental restoration, community health, poverty alleviation and peace. They have been engaged in collaborating with diverse organisations to ensure peace globally.
As an initiative to reinforce peace among the younger generation, today Shanti ashram organised an event 'Coimbatore Peace Festival' at the Kikani School. The peace festival aims at building a long-term sustainable peace around the world.
More than 1000 students from 45 educational institutions participated in the event.The event focussed on engaging Youth to end child poverty and sustain peace.
Today, 6th August marks the 71st year of bombing of Hiroshima, hence the event had a small prayer session to pay tribute to all the lost lives and a commitment for peace observed by students and youth.
'India Poverty Solutions 2016' an initiative was launched at the event focussing on involvement of the youth to secure solutions to curb poverty around the nation.
