Stamp Exhibition hosted at Government Museum, VOC Park grounds

City's Government Museum, VOC Park has hosted a 'Stamp exhibition' to pay tribute to the freedom fighters, on the eve of the 70th Independence day.

The exhibition will be held for a week from 10th to 17th August. A wide display of stamps embossed with pictures of freedom fighters, paintings depicting patriotism are featured in the expo.

Mr. Sivakumar, Curator of the Museum reported that the central stamp department will send stamps annually to all the museum, across the nation. 'We segregate the stamps, based on the themes and short-list them for such expo's', he stated.

'Many educational institutions are unaware of the expo and hence only a meagre crowd visits us. There is no entry fee for school students and hence they can make use of this opportunity to witness some rare and unique stamp collections' he asserted.

The exhibition will be open for public between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
