The 21st European Union Film Festival was flagged off today at Bharathiyar University in association with Indo Cine Appreciation Film, Chennai.
The festival was flagged off by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A.Ganapathy, Mr. Thangaraj General Secretary of ICAF, Mr.Siva Kannan President ICAF Chennai along with Dr.P.E.Thomas Head of Media and Communications Department.The festival will be held for three days from today and will screen various award-winning European movies.

The European Union Film festival will screen three films today - DAY 1:
'Jack' (Germany) Timing 11:30 am. Directed by Jan Kruger, Rene Romert (2014)
'Three Brothers' (Czech Republic) Timing 2:00 pm, Directed by Jan Sverak
'Stille Hjerte (Silent Heart)' Denmark. Timing: 3:45 pm, Directed by Bille August
The public & students from other colleges can also participate in the free-screening by registering them at the counters set in the Bharathiar University.
The Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr. A.Ganapathy in his Inaugural address stated that EUFF has been screening films in various states across India. Movies catering to various genres all award-winning movies will be cast this three-day event and hence he urged the students to take inspiration from these movies and create movies with social and positive message.
The General Secretary of ICAF Mr.Thangaraj stated that the films scheduled to be screened are all very unique and are not available for viewing in any other platform. And also advised the students to keenly observe the movies and the technology behind the making as it would enable them to improve their skill sets.
Mr.Sivankannan, President of ICAF Chennai expressed his gratitude to Bharathiyar University for organizing the film festival. Previously, the film festival was organized in PSG College, Hindustan College, Kumaraguru College and now for the fourth time in Bharathiar University, he stated.
Dr.P.E.Thomas, HOD Communication & Media expressed his thanks to the office bearers from ICAF for their efforts to host the film festival in Bharathiyar University. Students, faculties from other Colleges were present at the event.
