Babu (19) a native of Bihar is a contractual construction worker in Coimbatore. On the day of the incident, he was on the way to meet his employer at his residence in Ramanathapuram. Unexpectedly, he was attacked by a stray dog and sustained severe injuries.
He was admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. After two days of treatment, Babu returned home. Yesterday morning, when his parents woke him up, they were shocked to know that he was dead.
Babu's father Ram Raj Yadav had lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu police station alleging that the Doctor's negligence at Coimbatore Government Hospital (CMCH) has caused the death of their son. He reported that the doctors discharged him before getting fully cured and when questioned upon, they said he would return to normalcy soon. 'No adequate medicines are available at the Government hospital to treat dog bites', he stated.
Hence, he requested the concerned authorities to take steps to equip the Government hospital with adequate dog bite medications, to avoid such grievous incidents in the future.
The number of people falling prey to the stray dog menace has proliferated over the years. The authorities should frame ways to extirpate the stray dog menace in the best possible way, has been the longterm plea of the residents of the City.
