'ORIGIN 2K16', an inter-school competition was flagged off today at Avila Convent Higher Secondary Matriculation School in association with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore. In recent times, Avila has been organising various laudable projects to help the community, as a part of their Golden Jubilee Celebrations. The alumni of the School has bestowed their earnest support to commemorate the Golden Jubilee year of their school.
Sister. Shalini, Principal, Avila Convent welcomed the Chief Guests for the event. The event was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police, Ramya Bharathi in presence of guest of Honor Rtn. PhF. Padma Kumar, Governor, Group of Representative, Rotary Club of Coimbatore.

SP, Ramya Bharathi in her inaugural address applauded Avila's school band team for their brilliant performance and proclaimed the band as one of the best school band in the City. She advised the students to participate in the competitions with a sportive spirit and thoroughly enjoy the event.

Close to 2200 students from 45 schools will be participating in the competitions like adapt tune, quiz, creative writing, antaksahri, face painting, photography, wealth out of waste, short film, gaming, drawing, group dance, Mr & Ms Origin and much more. The competitions have been devised to showcase and motivate, the creative talents of the students.


Apart from competitions, prizes for best cheering school, awesome placards, most disciplined school, school with maximum participants will be awarded. The students from standard 6th to 12th are eligible to participate in the event.
