'Instead of blaming, it's time for action' says CPI leader D.Pandian

D.Pandian, Tamil Nadu State Secretary of Communist Party of India at a press meet in the City reported that the Tamil Nadu State Government should call for a all-party meet to discuss on the Siruvani dam issue. He advised that instead of blaming and pin-pointing each other, it's time that the political outfits jointly discuss the issue and derive at a long-lasting solution.

He evoked on the statement issued by Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala's CM to hold talks with TN government to resolve the Siruvani dam issue, amicably. But the passive attitude of the TN government sabotaged the momentum, he alleged. Further, the opposition raised by the Congress party in Kerala hindered the initiative, totally. Hence the Communist parties in TN and Kerala should jointly discuss on the issue, he told.

When questioned on the new law proposed by the State Government for appointing Chairman for Towns and Municipalities, he affirmed that 'we have to accept whatever is carried out by the ruling party for the five years'.

'The TN fisherman issue has been unresolved for the past 30 years, leaving the entire community in distraught and hardship'. Hence, solid action plans should be initiated by the Central Government to uplift the welfare of the Fishermen community, he urged.
