Coimbatore District Home Guards in association with Rotary club of Coimbatore Downtown organized a special session 'Ungaludan Thirunangai' at G. Kuppusamy Naidu Hospital Auditorium.
RV Ramya Bharathi, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District was the chief guest for the event and Kalki Subramaniam, a renowned artist, author and transgender activist delivered the keynote address. The welcome address was delivered by Balaji Raju, Area Commander, District Home Guards.
Kalki in her keynote address shared her journey as a transgender. She also threw light on the situation and the plight of transgender people in the society. Her intense determination and perseverance, has shaped her as an artist, she remarked. She cheerfully participated in the interactive session and clarified the queries put-forth by the gathering.

Rtn.Dr.P. Krishnanada, Chairman, Rotary club of Coimbatore down town delivered the vote of thanks. Other dignitaries from the Home Guards department and Rotary club were present at the session.
