Students' forum slam Modi for being tight-lipped on Cauvery issue

More than 50 students belonging to the 'Puratchigara Mannavar Iyakkam' staged a rail roko, condemning the violence raged on the Tamils, on the on-going Cauvery issue.

They forcefully entered the rail tracks at the Coimbatore rail junction and boycotted the train that was about to leave to Mettupalayam. They raised slogans slamming the Central Government for staying tight-lipped in the Cauvery issue.

Kanmani, a member of the student forum reported that, 'The Prime Minister, Modi remains muted because the water from Cauvery is leased to Coco-cola for a very meagre price and the contract period lasts for the next 92 years. The BJP government has been provoking the students forum' in Karnataka to join the agitation against the Cauvery issue. By issuing, dubious statements, the BJP party has been deceiving the people in both states. The riots are mostly staged for political gains of various political outfits'.

The police averted the protest by arresting the students.
