City Commissioner flags off '24th Evangeline Memorial Trophy' at Karunya University


Karunya University's '24th Evangeline Memorial trophy', a mega sports event for Colleges and Universities in South India, was officially flagged off today at the University premise. City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj flagged off the event in the presence of Chancellor of Karunya University, Paul Dinakaran and other dignitaries..

Close to 5000 students from 135 Colleges and Universities will be participating in the four-day event from 21st to 24th September, 2016. 

Out of the 50 teams, 40 teams are from other states, students from SRM University, Madurai American College, Andhra Loyola College, Ethiraj College, Chennai, St. Joseph's College, Vaishnava College, Mariana College, Kerala, Karnataka's Jain College are some of the renowned colleges participating in the sports meet.

Under Men's category, Volley ball, Foot ball, Basket Ball and Kabadi and under Women's Category: Volley ball, Basket ball and Kabadi are the events that have been planned. 

On the final day of the event, the winners will be awarded with trophies and cash prize.
