Rapid Action Force (R.A.F) a specialized wing of Central Reserve Police Force (C.R.P.F) located in Mahalingapuram, Vellalore, Coimbatore is all set to celebrate it's 24th anniversary on the 7th October 2016. Upon successful completion of 24 years of prestigious service in combating with anti riots mob and agitations/conglomerations in various parts of the country especially in Coimbatore for the past 18 years by virtue of its title itself.
The elite force has exhibited its unique strength combined with valour and bravery by directly fighting with anti social elements/riots in densely populated cities of the country rapidly and succeeded in quenching the violence with its rigidity/tactics and established peace, stability and tranquility among the public. A grand anniversary parade, presentation of president’s police medal for meritorious service to the serving/retired officials of various rank profiles for contributing outstanding/distinguished service as well as various cultural programme will be hosted on the eve. K. Durga Prasad, I.P.S, the Director General of C.R.P.F and many senior officers and men including the Senior Police Officers, Civil Administrators from the local will be attending the event.
Nearly thousands participants from 10 R.A.F units located in various parts of the country have already arrived at this location in celebrating the anniversary in a befitting manner. Sh. R.Jayakumar, Commandant of 105 RAF is coordinating the event round the clock to make the event successful.
