Raja Ravi Varma Honour - 14 year old boy who paints with foot bags award

Anjeneya Divyang, 14, a physically challenged student from Samarthanam Primary School, Bengaluru, has bagged the Raja Ravi Verma award for his outstanding drawing skills. The award was presented to Anjeneya, who uses his foot to draw pictures, at a ceremony organised by Megh Mandal Sansthan in Mumbai on Sunday. Gover nor of Haryana Kaptan Singh So lanki presented the award to Anjaneya in the presence of external affairs minister General VK Singh.

"Anjeneya is an amazing artist who has developed his skills despite the shortcoming of not having both arms. He has proved that disability is not a challenge," said Ma hantesh GK, founder trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.

Anjeneya, who hails from Ballari, is the only son of Bhadranaik and Sharada. The boy bagged the first prize in foot painting in the drawing competition Nakshatra 2016, conducted by NGO Bhoomi, and also won first prize in the 100m race in the inter-school athletics meet held at Kittur Rani Chennamma stadium recently .

Impressed by the boy's talent, Solanki provided him with Rs 25,000 for education.
