City-based Whatsapp group Namma Kovai members have united for a cause yet again. A request was made a few days ago to provide safety kits to the Coimbatore District Home Guards. As soon as the request was made on this group, help in form of cash and kind poured in from various quarters.
This morning, at the SP Ramya Bharathi’s office, the kits were handed over to the home guards. Each kit contains a reflector jacket, torchlight and a raincoat. Members of this Whatsapp group were also present at the SPs office.
Appreciating the efforts of members of Namma Kovai and being thankful to the kind sponsors, SP Ramya Bharathi emphasised that this kit will help the home guards who are on duty. Each kit has high quality materiel and the SP conveyed that the home guards must take advantage of the kit. The reflector jacket, she added will ensure that the home guards are safe while on duty.
Commenting on the home guards, SP Ramya Bharathi said that the Tamil Nadu Coimbatore District Home Guards are one of the best in the state. She also appreciated the home guards for their active participation especially during times of need. She thanked the home guards for lending a helping hand in maintaining law and order during the riots that took place in our city last month.
