Burglars made a hole on the wall of a mobile phone store at Avadi on Monday and decamped with high-end mobile phones worth 15 lakh.
The police said the shop's owner Dhanasekar himself closed the outlet on Sunday. On Monday morning when he opened the shop he was shocked to see a gaping hole in the wall and the mobile phones stolen.
The police said the miscreants had removed 123 expensive mobile phones from their cartons, packed them together and fled. They are not ruling out the hand of an insider or an ex-employee behind the crime. Two people have been detained for questioning in connection with the case.
