Ever since the image of Hindu Makkal Katchi's state president Arjun Sampath performing the Ayudha Pooja with weapons went viral, it has invited controversy. In the image, this leader is seated before the images of the gods and goddesses with weapons including a sword, a sickle, rifles, a pistol among other.
