Political outfits demand action against Arjun Sampath for his Facebook post on Ayudha Pooja

Ever since the image of Hindu Makkal Katchi's state president Arjun Sampath performing the Ayudha Pooja with weapons went viral, it has invited controversy. In the image, this leader is seated before the images of the gods and goddesses with weapons including a sword, a sickle, rifles, a pistol among other. Due to strong opposition from various quarters, this post on social media was withdrawn by Arjun.

Today, members of All Jammath Association filed a petition to the Commissioner of Police seeking condemning the act of Arjun Sampath and also seeking action against him to post such controversial pictures in social media.

State Secretary of Manidha Neya Makkal Katchi Sadhiq stated that: 'We are not against Hindu festivals. But, the image posted by Arjun Sampath of weapons like rifles should be probed by the Police to know if he possess a legal license to hold them'.

Also, the activists of Thandhai Periyar Dravida Kalagam (TPDK) also approached the Commissioner with similar allegations against Arjun Sampath seeking action against Arjun Sampath for releasing such controversial images.
