Rail roko condemning the central government for not forming Cauvery water management tribunal

This morning members of the Congress, DMDK and Communist party organised a rail rook to protest against the BJP Government for refusing to constitute the Cauvery water management tribunal. Despite the orders by the Court directing to constitute a tribunal for dealing Cauvery issues, the central government has not yet initiated any steps in this direction, they jointly alleged.

While interacting with the media, Former MLA of Communist Party of India, Arumugam said that 'Even after the Supreme court ordered the formation of Cauvery Water Management tribunal the central government has submitted a petition in the court in which it has said that it does not have the rights to constitute the Cauvery water management board. This is indeed an act of punishing Tamil Nadu. Protests are being held all over Tamil Nadu condemning the act of the ruling BJP government. Cauvery water management tribunal should be formed immediately and the water that is to be released to Tamil Nadu should be dispersed as per the order of the court of law'.

All the protestors courted arrest, close to 594 people were arrested in this regard.
