India Post employees stage protest demanding festive bonus

Employees of India Post staged a protest before the R.S. Puram head post office premises this morning. This protest was called for by the employees to demand a festival bonus this season. Other demands were also made. Members of all postal department worker unions participated in this protest.



The protest was lead by Sridhar, Secretary of Coimbatore Division Post employees and Baskaran, of Coimbatore Divisional secretary. The protest was inaugurated by RMS regional president.



Protestors demanded that GDS employees of the India Post must receive Rs.7000 as festival bonus. They demanded that their salary should be raised as per the recommendations of sixth and seventh pay commissions. Protestors also demanded that pending bonuses of the employees should be cleared and GDS employees should be paid for working during the MDS holidays from January 1 this year.

Tiruppur division Secretary Rajendran, RMS divisional secretary Sundaravadivel, Pension Union divisional secretary Karunanidhi, GDS divisional president Maria Anthony and all members of India Post , RMS, MMS, BSD, GDS and management employee unions participated in this protest.
