The city that is known for its entrepreneurship spirit is home the of good Samaritans too. Today three such city-based individuals were felicitated for their contributions towards the society.
The Rotary Club of Coimbatore headed by its President, Rtn. MPHF Gurpreet Singh hosted the felicitation event 'Hidden Gems of Coimbatore' Award Function this evening. At the event, Anjali Jain, Padmanabhan Gopalan and Vaishvani were awarded, under the Services Award category.

Dr. Kavidasan, Director, HR, Roots Industries Ltd, was Chief Guest for this function that was hosted at the Chamber Hall on Avinashi Road.
“A lot of thought process is behind this event. A lot of people are doing a lot of good deeds in our city. These three hidden gems are working selflessly towards the betterment of our society. This award in the service category is a well deserved honour for the hidden gems of Coimbatore.” said Rtn.Gurpreet Singh.

Anjali Jain is a homemaker who never misses an opportunity to involve herself in social activities. She continues to involve herself with old age homes, orphanage homes and schools for the specially blessed. She has been associated with them from 2005.

Padmanabhan Gopalan is the founder of SPICE Foundation who also is the founder of the NGO 'No Food Waste'. This NGO is involved in the collection of excess food and distributing the same to the needy.

Inspired by the Chennai Food Bank, Vaishvani started 'Food Bank' NGO in Coimbatore. This NGO works towards creating a hunger-free city. The food is prepared or pooled in by the organisation and distributed to the most needy.

Assistant Governor Rtn.Marappan, Rtn. Ramkumar, Secretary, Rtn. Chitra Manoharan and other office bearers of Rotary club and members were present during the felicitation ceremony.
