Royal Care Hospital opened its doors to the public in 2015. This hospital provides round the clock treatment for all emergencies. Founded by Dr K Madeshwaran, a dedicated neuro and spine surgeon, the Royal Care Hospital has changed the way health care services are delivered in the city.
Addressing the media today, the founder of this group announced a strategic partnership with Hyderabad-based American Oncology Institute (AOI). As a part of this partnership, the group announced a first of its kind launch of its comprehensive cancer care unit which is scheduled to be fully functional from July 2017. However, the first phase of this project was completed within a record time of 425 days and this 280-bedded facility with all modern amenities and infrastructure will be declared open on November 13.

Commenting on the comprehensive cancer care unit, Dr K Madeshwaran said “With the easy access to social media and the internet, people expect nothing but world-class treatment these days. Together with American Oncology Institute, our comprehensive cancer unit will commence operations to guarantee research and experience of top oncologists from across the globe, coupled with the finest infrastructure which we are known to offer. The added facility will further propel Coimbatore to be listed as one of the top cities in our country, known to provide the best treatment in all medical specialities including cancer care.”
The partnership between the two will result in a milestone achievement in cancer care delivery as AOI will begin initially with the medical oncology department in Royal Care’s premises as part of the first phase of operations. This will be followed by the launch of the Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre at a new 30,000sq.ft facility in Neelambur campus that will offer end to end oncology treatment programmes comprising of Radiation Oncology Medical.
AOI is the international arm of USA-based Cancer Treatment Services International (CTSI) Pittsburgh, CTSI was founded by a group of physicists and actively practising oncologists associated with the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC), Pennsylvania. Joseph A Nicholas, Director and Board Member CTSI and AOI also participated in the press meet said “The cost of treatment offered will be on par with what is offered in other health care service centres.”
