Traffic comes to a halt in Maruthamalai road enroute to Vadavalli

In a brazen display of "drink & drive" and the commotion created, traffic came to a halt in Marudhamalai road enroute to Vadavalli.

A man has apparently hit a lady with his car near GCT and didn't stop his car. The agitated public chased him back and blocked him near Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and a commotion ensued.

In his inebriated state, he has gone on a verbal assault with the public and traffic was blocked for more than an hour due to the tussle between the offender and the public.  The police have arrived at the spot and are trying to diffuse the situation. The one-hour traffic halt during peak hour has created a long queue of vehicles from TNAU to Vadavalli.
