All Soul's Day is a holy day for the people of Christian community. Every year, 2nd November has been observed as the 'All souls day', a day to remember the departed souls. The family and relatives offer special prayers on this day to mark their love and respect for their ancestors and departed loved ones.
This morning Rev. L.Thomas Aquinas. Bishop of Coimbatore hosted special prayers to commemorate this day. Thousands of people participated in the holy mass and the prayers thereafter.
Since, early this morning the burial grounds at Puliakulam, Sowripalayam, Podanur and Sungam were thronged by people who cleaned and decorated the graves of their loved ones and offered special prayers for their souls to rest in peace. The entire burial grounds were lit up by candles and floral decorations.
