In view of the national alert following reported infiltration by terrorists in Gujarat, the city airport has also been brought under tight security cover.
Though, there is no no specific threat to the airport, three-tier security cover has been thrown open, following the nation-wide alert, police said.
As part of security measures visitors will not be allowed inside the airport till March 12, they said.
Two shopping malls in the city had received bomb scare last night and police had carried out searches for more than two hours. However, nothing was found, proving the the calls were hoax.
