Mylswamy is a resident of Marappalam near TN-Palakkad border and grows corn in his piece of land. It was reported that yesterday, a lone elephant entered this farm and fed on the corn that is grown on this land before it quenched its thirst by drinking water from the water tank in Mylswamy’s home. However, the lone tusker did not stop with this. This elephant went on to feed on the provisions and pulses that were stored outside Mylswamy’s home.
The natives of this region alerted the officials of the forest department as soon as the tusker trespassed into the property. However the officials delay in arrival prompted the natives of this region to chase the elephant using fire sticks. The elephant went into hiding in a barren piece of land in this vicinity.
However, two hours later, the lone tusker came to sight again. Thus, the natives of this region using fire sticks chased this tusker back into the wild. The natives of this region feared that the lone elephant could return into human habitation in search of food and water regularly. Hence, fear gripped the residents of Marapalam area which kept them awake the whole night.
