The 25th Meeting of ICAR Regiional Committee (Region VII) comprising of states Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep is hosted at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). This meeting is all set to conclude tomorrow, November 12. R Kamalakannan, Minister for Agriculture, Government of Pondicherry declared open this two-day meeting.

About 150 delegates including vice chancellors, directors of research, directors of extension education, deans of state agricultural universities, directors of ICAR institutes, project coordinators and heads of ICAR regional and research centres and official of the development department of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry from this region are participating in this meeting.

A press release from the TNAU stated that this meeting is hosted once in two years and at this meeting the current status of agricultural education and extension education will be discussed. It will also identify the gaps for state research by State Agricultural Universities/ ICAR institutes and constraints in transfer of agricultural technology by extension agencies.
