Kidnapped teenager secured, all five kidnappers arrested.


Vishnu son of Shanmugam is working in a private college canteen and Shanmugam is employed in the same educational institution as a lab assistant. On Thursday both father and son returned home in separate vehicles. Shanmugam reached home but Vishnu did not reach home even after a long time.

Shanmugam got a call from unidentified persons who revealed that they have kidnapped Vishnu and demanded Rs.40,000 as ransom for his (Vishnu’s) release. Shanmugam informed them that he will pay the amount the next day and he subsequently reported this incident to the Peelamedu police.

Today, Shanmugam went to the place as informed by the kidnappers. Police followed him. The kidnappers on seeing the police pushed Vishnu from the car and escaped from the place. Police have arrested 5 people with help of the details provided by Vishnu. Police are investigating the case with the help of the CCTV footage available.
