Walkathon by volunteers of U&I to enhance literacy levels of under-privileged Children.



Today, in the city of Coimbatore early this morning hundreds of volunteers of U&I, a non-profit organization held placards and balloons to urge on the importance of spreading awareness on education to under-privileged children and thereby improving the literacy rates. 

Thus, 'Happy Feet' walkathon was organised by the members of U&I, Coimbatore Chapter. The walkathon was flagged off at the Income tax commissioner office, Race Course and went through Thomas park and reached the start point back.

The event aims to promote literacy, create awareness on the volunteering opportunities to support the underprivileged, spread awareness among the youth about their potential to bring about a change and contribute to the society and uplift the needy and deserving people in the society.





Speaking on this Sony Ahuja, U&I Coimbatore, stated that 'U&I' is a volunteer driven non-profit organization with an intention of promoting literacy among the underprivileged classes. U&I has grown from scratch to a nationally recognized NGO with branches across 10 cities in India. The organization has dedicated volunteers who allocate time off every week to teach the children who can't afford education. Through our after school program, U&I Teach helps increase the employability of women, children and youth from lesser privileged backgrounds with courses in English, tuitions and life skills'.
