'De-monetisation has put people's life in jeopardy', says District President, AIYF

Political outfits, social activists are on a protest spree condemning the announcement by the Central Government regarding de-monetisation of 500's and 1000's.

Following the protests staged by many political outfits in the city, today the ALL India Youth Federation (AIYF) joined the list. The members of AIYF marched from the Collectorate to the State Bank Of India (SBI) Main branch near Railway Station.

Kalyanasundaram, District President, AIYF stated that 'This unprecedented announcement of demonetisation has created a nation-wide havoc. The daily livelihood of the public has been put in jeopardy. Running around banks and ATM's  to exchange their old currencies has adversely affected 80% of the business and people belonging to the lower economic groups.

The Government has failed to act upon Viay Mallaya and giant corporates who have defaulted crores of money.  Willingness to discount debts of such defrauders but paying no heed to discount educational and agricultural of deprived citizens shows the intent of the Government towards ensuring people's welfare', he said.

The police arrested the protestors and cleared the scene.
