The 4200-page charge sheet filed against the five Maoists who were arrested near Karumathamampati, under various sections, including prevention of illegal activities act. Since then their case was being heard at the first Sessions Court, Coimbatore.
Today, Rupesh, Anoop, Shiny, Veeramani and Kannan were handed over the 4200-page charge sheet today, following which the case was rescheduled to 8th December, 2016 by the Coimbatore district chief magistrate (In-charge) Christopher.

Earlier when the arrested Maoists were brought to the court they raised slogans condemning the recent killing of three fellow Maoists in Kerala. They raised slogans inside the court seeking a judicial enquiry into the incident in which three Maoists were killed in Kerala in an encounter.
Advocate Balamurugan, who appears on behalf of the arrested persons said that 'Rupesh, Anoop, Shiny, Veeramani and Kannan were granted bail by the Chennai High Court. The police have filed 28 false cases in Tamilnadu and Kerala, including a case for obtaining SIM cards using fake documents. Even though there are no criminal cases pending against the Maoists, the police have filed cases against them as they are memebers of the banned group. Since they are possibilities of the arrested persons being attacked in person, necessary protection should be arranged for them in the prison premise'.

In this regard, the Magistrate asked them to file a petition through the Jail Superintendent seeking protection. Tense moments prevailed at the court complex as they raised slogans and showed their agitation on the encounter of Maoists in Kerala.
