S.P. Velumani Minister of Municipal Administration, Rural Development, Corporations, Panchayats and Panchayat Raj today laid foundation for various projects. A formal foundation laying ceremony for various projects, was performed today at the Thondamuthur Assembly constituency.

Coimbatore Collector Mr. T.N. Hariharan presided over the function. A grain storage facility at Madahampatti with a capacity of 2000 Metric tonnes, construction of tar topped roads at Vellimedu, Mettuvazhavu and Nathegoundenputhur are a few of the projects that were inaugurated by the minister.

He also inspected the sanitary complex the Anganwadi Center constructed at Vadivelampalayam near Pooluvampatti. He also inaugurated the road that was laid from Siruvani Main road up to Autocarer Thottam and a sanitary complex at the Annanagar in Cithirai Chavadi built under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan scheme of the Central Government.
He also declared open the newly laid roads for use at 5th and 7th wards near Neeliamman temple. The road laid from Sennanur to Mathampalayam with the assistance from NABARD, and the roads which were laid at a cost of Rs.1 crore at Ambikadai, Karadimadai were also declared open to the public.

He received petitions from the people who live in Perumalkovilpathi, Kalimangalam, and Mukasimangalam and instructed the respective officials to take swift action on the petitions received.
When speaking to the press he said, “Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has plans to implement more schemes for the welfare of the people. The scheme of providing home to everyone is being implemented.”
“Subsidy of rupees .2.10 lakhs is being provided for homeless people for building new homes and rupees .1.60 lakhs is being provided for undertaking maintenance works in existing homes. Rs.6 lakhs is provided for those who own land pattas for constructing a home and also an interest subsidy of 6.50 percent will be provided. Loans are provided to the women self help group for both existing and new groups through banks. People should make use of this facilities.” he said.
He distributed cheques to the tune of Rs.3.35 lakhs to families of victims who died due to the man-animal conflict and compensation was also distributed to those who lost their crops due to wild animals.
Ettimadai Shanmugam MLA, District Forest Officer, R.Subramanian, District Revenue Officer T.Chiristhu Raj, Zonal Manager of Tamilnadu Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Venkatapriya, Revenue Thasildar, Madhuranthaki, Assistant Director of Talukas, Ganesh Ram among other government officials participated in the various events.
