A street light at GKD nagar, Papanaickenpalayam, Ward No:55, in the city is declared useless as it does more harm than good. All time, facing the wrong direction, a blanket of darkness envelopes this stretch, post sunset posing great threat to pedestrians and motorists.
It has also been reported that in the same locality, an electric post, in the middle of a four road junction, is standing precariously, also posing serious danger to the road users. Residents of this area shared that, 'the electric post is in this state for the past 50 days. The concerned officials should on priority address the issue before it turns out to be disastrous'.
