Voter awareness programme held in Gandhipuram

The district administration with help from the members of the third gender conducted a voter sensitisation programme on the importance of voting at the Gandhipuram Bus Stand on Wednesday.

A release said that the Collector said that the programme was to help each voter realise the importance of his vote so that every voter cast his vote to achieve 100 per cent polling.

The district administration on its part conducted various voter awareness programme and this was one of those.

She added that the administration had given voter identity cards to 243 transgenders to enable them to vote.

District Revenue Officer T. Christuraj, Returning Officer, Coimbatore South, P. Gandhimathi and other officers participated.
