It has been reported that Ramasamy Nagar Residential Welfare Association which is located in Ward number 44 of the Coimbatore Corporation lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore Corporation that Priya Drinking water supplying company is stealing water from the corporation tap and selling it in market. Following this, an inspection was conducted and it was found that Shanmugam was drawing water from drinking water pipe using electrical motors and selling the water.
Subsequently, the water connections were disconnected and the electric motors used for drawing water from the pipes were confiscated on 7 December. The water connection which was provided from across the road was also disconnected.
