A National Vendor Development Programme (NVDP) by the Ministry of MSME and COSIEMA from 14 to 16 December was flagged off today at Sri Padmavathi Ammal Cultural Centre, Peelamedu in Coimbatore.
This morning, the
event was Palanivel, Deputy Director, Br, MSME-DI, M V Loganathan, President, COSIEMA, G Shanmuganathan, Additional Industrial Adviser, MSME-DI, Chennai, R Baskaran, Chief Workshop Manager, S&T Workshop, Southern Railways, Podanur, V Sundaram, President, CODISSIA, C P Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Coir Board, S Surulivel, Vice President, COSIEMA were present during the inaugural function of this programme.

In this programme several vendors put up various stalls displaying their products. On display are products being procured by them indicating the technical specification, yearly off take and current indicative procurement prices. Technical advancement and interactive seminars sessions will also be a part of this three-day event.

“In the era of global competition and changed Industrial climate, Government is in full swing to encourage MSME sector, which contributes 40% GDP. Public sector undertakings and MNCS are compelled to face challenges to be on the top. They are forced to look out for more sub contractors and vendors, who could meet out their requirements qualitatively and quantitatively on time and every time at competitive rates.” said C. P. Radha Krishnan, Coir Board, Chairman while inaugurating the event.
