Coimbatore basketball association hosts State basket Championship


Coimbatore basketball association had recently hosted a State Level Basket tournament from 15 to 17 December. West zone teams from Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Namakkal and Dharmapuri districts participated in this tournament. The games took place in PSG Tech indoor stadium and Sarvajana school grounds. About 34 teams participated in this tournament.



In the first Semi finals BSC competed against the YMCA team. BSC team scored 69 points and won the match YMCA team had scored 65 points. In the second game United team played against Renovators team. United team won the game with 77 points against 73 point scored by the Renovators team.



V.V.R. Raj Sathyan, President of Tamil Nadu Basketball association was the honorary chief guest. Principal of PSG college of Technology Dr. R. Rudhramurthi and V. V. R. Raj Sathyan were the chief guests at the event. They also distributed the trophy to the teams. Coimbatore basketball association’s vice president D. Palanisamy, R.Cyril Irudhayaraj and members of the organisation has organised the tournament.
