Srivilliputtur: Youth hacks girl in public view


In a shocking incident, a Plus Two girl student, Umamaheswari (17) was hacked by an unidentified youth here on Monday afternoon. The condition of the girl is said to be very serious.

The police said that the victim, daughter of a woman Special Sub Inspector of Police, Kasiammal, was returning home after appearing for a public examination at Hindu Higher Secondary School.

The man had reportedly attacked her while she was walking on Periya Perumal Mada Street at around 1:30 p.m.

The girl was rushed to the Government hospital here. The identity of the culprit and the motive behind the crime were yet to be ascertained.
