In the year 1998, a few like-minded individuals joined hands and formed the Bakthar Peravai group. One of the activities of this group is cleaning temples. Every Sunday, members and volunteers of this group, get together and clean a chosen temple that is under the purview of the state or central government. This morning about 20 members and volunteers participated in cleaning the Koniamman Temple in our city. The group calls their temple clean up drive ‘Ularavarapani’.
