Advocate, worker die in accidents

Two persons, including a daily wage worker taking his father to hospital, were killed in separate road accidents since Saturday.

In the first accident, a 61-year-old advocate succumbed to his injuries after a KSRTC bus knocked his two-wheeler down near Kanteerava Indoor Stadium around 4 pm on Saturday. The bus rammed the bike of Anjaneya Kumar, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar, from behind. Kumar was shifted to Mallya Hospital. He died around midnight," Cubbon Park traffic police said. Bus driver Girish Babu has been arrested.

A 25-year-old daily wage worker died after a speeding truck hit his bike near Sonal Garment Junction, Peenya on Sunday morning.

Shivaputrappa, resident of Rajagopalnagar, was riding the bike with his father Phakeerappa on pillion to an eye hospital when the truck hit them from behind around 8 am. Phakeerappa escaped unhurt.
