Students create utility items at' wealth out of waste' competition hosted at ArtHouz.


'Christmas Plast' a mega wealth out of waste competition was organised by the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Majestic, in partnership with  ArtHouz Coimbatore. 



Dr. Sumathi Ramu, Associate Professor of Department of English of  PSGR Krishnammal College for Women was the chief guest for this competition. Rtn. Thiayagaran was the Guest of honour, and Rtn. PP PHF Manoj Kathik attended the event as special invitee. The event was organised at the ArtHouz, Jenney's club in Coimbatore.



About 50 participants from various schools and colleges  participated in this competition. The students transformed waste items like old newspapers, bottles that would have otherwise found their way to the trash can into items of utility like wall hangings, lawn chairs among others.

Speaking to SimpliCity on the sidelines of this competition, Karthika, President, Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Majestic said “Through this contest, we are providing a platform for young people to display their talents and skills. We are also promoting the concept of reuse, reduce and recycle.” she said.
