ISKCON hosts its 25th car festival in Coimbatore today

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) hosted its 25th car festival in Coimbatore today. As a part of this festival, a chariot in which statues of important Gods and Goddess of Hindu Mythology was taken on a procession across a pre-determined route in our city.



This chariot measured 42 feet tall was decorated with fresh flowers and about 6,000 people participated in this holy procession. Of the participants were foreign nationals from over two dozen countries. A few devotees danced through the route of this holy procession and ‘Hara Rama Hare Krishna’ was chanted by the devotees. Speaking to SimpliCity, Velansiya, one of the ISKCON devotees from Russia said “I am happy to be a part of this procession and the celebrations."



“Normally, the devotees have to visit the temple to seek the blessings of God. However, through this procession, God is reaching out to so many people.” one of the organisers said.
