The two-day, MVS cycling carnival will be hosted on 4th and 5th February in association with the Tamil Nadu cycling association.
On 4th February MVS Enduro races will be hosted at two locations in the city and on the following day, MVS criterium, which is open to cyclists is scheduled to be hosted at the Kari Motor Speedway. The cycling race will be hosted in various categories for children and adults.

The cycling race will be hosted in various age categories including;, 4-years to 9-years and 10-years to 13-years, under-18 boys, masters men and veterans above-55.
Prize money of Rs.2,40,000 will be given to the winners of the various categories. The races will be hosted on a specially built race track. As a part of this event, Tamil Nadu Cycling Championship will also be hosted during the two-day event.
Arjun Bala, Race Director, while addressing the media shared that “The first edition of MVS Cycling Carnival was hosted in the year 2013.
It is one of a kind event for all bicycling enthusiasts in the city. Every year the number of people participating in this contest is growing. Last year, there were 365 entries and this year, with another 2 weeks to go, already 150 members have registered. From, seven categories in 2014, last year the categories were increased to ten. The entry process has been evolved to be accessible and user-friendly.”, said, Bala.
When asked about the takers for this event, he shared that “Usually men outnumber women. The event has entries from across the country and entry fees are Rs.300 for children, Rs.500 for amateurs and Rs.625 for professionals. Though the professionals add energy to this event but our main focus will be on kids and amateurs.”

Radhakrishnan from Tamil Nadu Cycling Association while interacting with the media expressed that MVS Cycling carnival should be conducted at a South Zone Level to encourage more people to participate in this contest. 'The interest of people towards cycling has been on the rise and conducting the event at South Zone Level will be a boost for them', he said.
