In a letter dated 19th January, addressed to the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, who was appointed as a Member of the Board of Management, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has expressed to be relieved from official duties with immediate effect. Hitherto submitting his formal resignation, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy is the Managing Trustee of Senaapathy Kangaya, Cattle Research Foundation and Member of Biodiversity Conservation Council of India.
A copy of his resignation letter was also sent to the Vice chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and to the Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Government of Tamil Nadu.
In this letter Karthikeya stated “I was appointed as a member of the board of management, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and I have served yourself and the University to the best of my knowledge, sincerity and dedication. I am herewith resigning my post as member of the board of management with immediate effect in protest of the ban on Jallikattu and the continuing state turmoil in Tamil Nadu.”
“I request you sir, to appeal to the honourable Prime Minister to issue a Presidential Ordinance to ensure continuity of the bio culture sports in Tamil Nadu and several other states of our country. With deep anguish and pain meeted out to us, I hereby submit my resignation. I kindly request you to accept my resignation."
It may be noted that the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is declared indefinitely closed.
