CM Edappadi Palanisamy announces free data card with 2GB per day for government and government aided college students to attend online classes


Coimbatore: CM Edappadi Palanisamy announces free data card with 2GB per day for students of government and government aided college Arts, Science Colleges, Polytechnics, Engineering Colleges, Scholarship Self-Funded Colleges from January 2021 to April 2021 to attend online classes.

In his announcement he said, "The enrollment rate of students in higher education in Tamil Nadu has increased from 32 per cent to 49 per cent due to various measures taken by the AMMA government. In addition, AMMA government is also implementing a program to provide free laptops to students studying in government, government colleges and government aided colleges to enable college students to acquire better computer skills.



As colleges have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions are conducting online classes for the benefit of students studying in colleges. In order to enable students to participate in these online streams, 9,60,047 students enrolled in government and government-aided arts and science colleges, polytechnic colleges, engineering colleges and scholarship colleges for a period of 4 months from January 2021 to April 2021 data cards by ELCOT will be distributed that will provide 2GB data per day.

He said, "I kindly ask the students to make best use of the free data cards provided by the Tamil Nadu Government to aid in their education through online classes during the COVID-19 period."
