10th and 11th graduation ceremonies held at the Government College of Arts and Sciences in Valparai

The graduation ceremonies were held after a gap of four years at the Government College of Arts and Sciences, in Valparai

Coimbatore: The 10th and 11th Graduation Ceremonies were held at the Valparai Government Arts College. In this ceremony, 591 students were awarded degrees. The Valparai Government Arts College was founded in 2007. The current Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin had laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the college.

The children of the Valparai tea plantation workers found it difficult to go out of town, to faraway places, for about 3 to 5 years for their undergraduate and post-graduate studies. To ease their struggles, the Valparai Arts College was established in 2007 at Valparai. It originally operated as a Bharathiyar University College and was later converted into a Government Arts College, and is now functioning as the Government College of Arts and Sciences, Valparai.

Graduation ceremonies at Valparai Government Arts and Science College had not been held for the last four years due to various reasons including COVID-19. After a gap of four years, the college's 10th and 11th graduation ceremonies took place on Thursday.

The Associate Director of College Education, the Registrar of Bharathiar University, Murugavel, Board Member of Bharathiar University, Saravanakumar, and Muralitharan, Chief of the Government Women’s College for Arts and Science awarded the respective degrees to the graduates. The parents who attended the ceremony were delighted to witness their children finally graduate in style.
