Coimbatore : To manage traffic congestion of incoming and outgoing buses during Deepavali festival, the City Police has announced a temporary bus stand near Codissia for all buses going via Salem from Coimbatore.

As lakhs of passengers would be using the TNSTC and private bus service to reach their home towns, special buses have been announced ahead of Deepavali. Every year, the incoming and outgoing buses from various locations ahead of Deepavali would make the bus stand in Gandhipuram and Dr. Nanjappa road chaotic.

To avoid this and manage the traffic at ease, the city traffic police have decided to set up this temporary bus stand in front of Codissia from 6AM of October 25 to 27.

Buses which ply to Palladam via Tirupur, Avinashi, Erode Namakkal, Anthiyur, Gobi will be operated from the Gandhipuram Central bus stand, as usual.

All basic facilities for the passengers like drinking water, toilets, waiting area facilities will be taken care by the city corporation.
